Which Netflix movies are returning for sequels? Many as it turns out! Welcome to our roundup of every Netflix original movie planned or announced to get a sequel in the next few years on Netflix.

Coming to Netflix: March 31st
Murder Mystery 2 – Picture: Netflix
Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston will return for a sequel to the murder mystery comedy.
According to Netflix, here’s what you can expect from the sequel:
“Four years after solving their first murder mystery, Nick and Audrey Spitz are now full-time detectives struggling to get their private detective agency off the ground when they are invited to celebrate the wedding of their friend the Maharajah on his private island. But the Spitzes are in trouble again when the groom is kidnapped for ransom shortly after the festivities begin, making every glamorous guest, family member, and the bride herself suspect. “

Coming to Netflix: June 16

Sam Hargrave returns to direct this high-octane action thriller in which Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as Tyler Rake.
Through my window: across the sea
Coming to Netflix: June 23

This is a sequel to the Spanish film that will follow Raquel and Ares as they face challenges in the next chapter of their relationship and individual lives.
A third film for through my window it is also planned for the future.
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget
Coming to Netflix: Q4 2023

Chicken Run is getting a sequel 23 years after the first movie was released in theaters. Produced again by Aardman Animation, the new film will see the return of your favorite characters, notably with a revamped voice cast.
Netflix has not provided an exact release date for chicken race 2 yet, but November 11 is quoted on various websites, but we haven’t been able to confirm that. Still, Aardman participated in an interview in which he stated that the film would be released in the fourth quarter.

Beverly Hills Police: Axel Foley
Expected to launch in 2024

Slated to be the fourth film in Paramount Pictures’ Beverly Hill Cop franchise, Beverly Hills Police: Axel Foley It will arrive exclusively on Netflix in 2024.
Eddie Murphy will reprise his role as Axel Foley and will star alongside other big names, including Kevin Bacon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Judge Reinhold.
Code 8: Part II

Jeff Chan will return to direct a sequel to the sci-fi film starring Stephen Amell and Robbie Amell.
Production on the sequel has wrapped filming and it’s unclear when Part 2 will be on Netflix, but we expect it to be 2023 or 2024 at the latest.

Knives Out: A Glass Onion Mystery – Picture: Netflix
netflix picked up knives out for two additional films after the first released by Lionsgate in 2019.
Not much is known about the third film beyond the fact that Rian Johnson will write and direct and Daniel Craig will once again return as Benoit Blanc.
Rogue Moon: Part II

Netflix has a lot of faith in Zack Snyder. Rebel Moon is the new big sci-fi fantasy movie that will see its first theatrical debut in December 2023. A sequel has already been greenlit ahead of this release (and, according to sources, it may even be extended to other spin-offs). offs too) and will be released in the next few years.
Here is a summary of the plot of the first film:
“When a peaceful colony at the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, a young woman with a mysterious past named Kora is sent to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand.”

Red Notice still holds the accolade of being Netflix’s most-watched movie within the first 28 days of its release, and shortly after its release in late 2021, it was greenlit for two additional movies.
Sadly, news on the sequels has been quiet since the initial announcement, but it was expected that both movies would, at one point, back-to-back movie in 2023.

Now Netflix’s fifth biggest movie of all time, the gray man will get a sequel soon.
Until now, joe russo said the following about the sequel:
“The sequel will be inspired by Mark Greaney’s novel. Translating from one medium to another often requires interpretation, but we have an incredible amount of source material for an incredible offering. We’ll build on that for the sequel.»
There’s no word on when production will begin on the sequel or spinoff movie, which has also been announced, but we do know that Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese will pen the script for the sequel.

Victoria Mahoney is directing the sequel to Charlize Theron’s action-fantasy film that will adapt the Force Multiplied comic.
Filming for the film took place in Italy and the UK throughout 2022, wrapping up at the end of the year.
Notably, the film was not included in the 2023 movie list, so it could be released as late as 2024.

the sea beast has become one of the most popular animated movies on Netflix, and Chris Williams will return to direct a sequel announced in late 2022.
The first film, released in the summer of 2022, told the story of a young woman who stowed away on a ship and journeyed into uncharted waters after teaming up with the infamous Jacob Holland.
Other Netflix Movie Sequels Announced
In the interest of time, here are a few other movies that have been announced for sequels at some point, but have limited information and it’s unclear if they’re still moving forward.
- army of the dead 2 – A sequel to Zack Snyder’s zombie film Army of the Dead was ordered shortly after the first film’s debut, but it’s unclear where it is in development.
- shiny 2 – A sequel to the Will Smith film was in development, but has reportedly been cancelled.
- death note 2 – With The Duffer Brothers now working on a Death Note series, it’s unclear if the Death Note sequel will ever come to fruition.
- Spenser Confidential 2 – Following the release of 2020’s Spenser Confidential, a sequel was announced, but it’s unclear where it is in development.
- We Can Be Heroes Sequel – A sequel to Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids spin-off has been announced, but it’s unclear where it is in development.
- Yes Day 2 – A sequel to Jennifer Garner’s film was announced in July 2021, but no news has surfaced since.
