On other occasions, through different studies, the relationship between the character of the drivers and their behavior at the wheel has been demonstrated, but a more recent one has analyzed the relationship between the personality of the drivers and the car they have.

Scrap Car Comparison, a British company dedicated to valuing vehicles for scrapping and recycling, partnered with London consultancy Censuswide for this research in which they analyzed 2,024 drivers in the United Kingdom.

In addition to a test to find out their IQ, they took into account the make of the car they were driving and other details such as its color or engine. In total, 27 brands were compared, according to an article on motor.es.

The intelligence quotient (IQ) is a standard assessment of the intellectual performance of each individual. It is estimated that two thirds of the population has a level between 85 and 115 points and only 2.5 percent of people fall outside the norm, either due to a score below 70 or, at the other extreme, above than 130. Those with an IQ greater than 144 are considered gifted, according to this Stanford-Binet intelligence scale.

Scrap Car Comparison research reveals that drivers with the highest IQ, with an average score of 99, own a Skoda. And it was also the group where fewer psychopathic tendencies were recorded, such as irascibility or aggressive behavior, that is, calmer when driving.

The owners of Skoda cars were followed by those of Suzuki (98.09), Peugeot (97.79), Mini (97.41) and Mazda (95.91), all of them above the 95-point barrier. CI.

At the other extreme of the measurement, drivers of Land Rover (88.58), Fiat (90.14) and BMW (91.68) had a lower IQ. However, the group of drivers analyzed was within what is considered an average score worldwide, between 85 and 115 on the CI scale.

The color

Another conclusion of the British study refers to the preference of the most intelligent drivers for gasoline-powered vehicles, a curious fact, in the midst of the electrification process of the automobile. With a higher IQ (94.35) they opted for a model like this, followed by the owners of versions with a hybrid (93.89) and diesel (92.91) engine, relegating the drivers of electric cars 90,19).

In addition, the most intelligent (95.71) chose the white color for their car, followed by gray (94.97), red (94.88), blue (93.60), black (92.83), silver (92.67) and green (88.43).
