The attorney general, Margarita Cabello, said that several FAC flights are being processed to complete the operation that she hopes to return from the island to almost 2 thousand travelers affected by the suspension of operations of the airline.

Faced with this situation, the Attorney General’s Office convened a dialogue table to reach agreements that achieve a solution to the problem.
“The Public Ministry, safeguarding the rights of at least 30,000 passengers who were affected by the cancellation of the flights, urgently summoned the director of Aerocivil, Sergio París, to the Superintendent of Industry and Commerce (e) , María del Socorro Pimienta and the Superintendent of Transportation, Ayda Lucy Ospina,” reported the Attorney General’s Office.
At that table, which was convened for 2 in the afternoon at the headquarters of the Attorney General’s Office, “the Avianca-Viva Air business integration process will be monitored. Likewise, The Attorney General’s Office will make observations as appropriate, in order to avoid affecting rights and will warn of the risks it observes in administrative procedures. in favor of the defense of consumers of air services at the national level and third parties who may be affected by the current situation”.
last Tuesday airlines such as Avianca, Latam Airlines and Wingo began offering seats to address the crisis caused by Viva Air’s decision to leave its planes on the ground.
As reported by this outlet, the president of Latam Airlines Colombia, according to Santiago Álvarez, said that last Monday more than 1,180 passengers were served on company flights and they extended that protection until March 5.

“With the addition of the additional planes this Friday we will be able to increase our availability of seats in different destinations since these planes represent an offer of about 30,000 weekly seats to help guarantee connectivity in the cities affected by the suspension of Viva’s operation,” he said. Álvarez to EL TIEMPO.
For its part, Avianca did not sell tickets for two days to accommodate passengers affected by the Viva Air crisis. According to the company, about 3,000 Viva passengers can be relocated on their flights. Of the total, more than 2,200 have already flown to their destinations, mainly on the routes that connect with Bogotá, Medellín, Leticia, San Andrés, Lima and Buenos Aires.
