Through a letter addressed to President Gustavo Petro, the Federation of Cargo Transport Entrepreneurs (Fedetranscarga) made a strong call about the recent decisions that the National Government has made regarding Soat and the price of ACPM.
They assure that on September 2, 2022, after the meeting of Fedetranscarga cargo transport businessmen, held in Armenia (Quindío), they requested the Government do not increase the price of ACPM nor of vehicular gas, since they are the fuels with which trucks are mobilized in the country.

The Government accepted this request and froze the price of diesel until June 2023. Something that did not happen with the cost of gasoline, since it has been increasing since last October and is already full an increase of 1,000 pesos in the last four months.
The decision not to change the price of diesel was based on keeping transportation costs low, and thus mitigate the blows on inflation in Colombiawhich last November reached 12.53 per year, the highest in the last 23 years.
However, recently the Minister of Finance, José Antonio Ocampo, announced that by January 2023 the ACPM will have an increase of 57 pesos, on average. A decision that was rejected from Fedetranscarga, which also disagreed with the fact that the 50 percent Soat discount will not apply to cargo transportation.

«Unquestionably, the increase in the price of diesel and the non-possibility of having

Of course, this is directly detrimental to the economic interests of all
Colombians, since it is the consumers who will see their income affected,» said the union.
Given this, they asked the Government to modify Decree 2497 of 2022 that regulates the Soat discount and to honor the commitment they had reached in October on do not increase the price of diesel.
