Tips for the keys to financial products – Personal Finance – Economy

Having a secure password is essential to protect your personal financial data and more your banking products such as debit and credit cards, virtual banking and applications such as virtual wallets.

If you don’t have a secure password, you can be left without the barrier that prevents hackers from having your online accounts or accessing your products.

For this reason, it is essential to have advanced practices to prevent cyber fraudsters from easily guessing them.

According to Nu Colombia’s engineering and security area, there are several tips that can be put into practice to create a secure password and avoid headaches that could have been avoided.

Do not share your password with anyone.

The basics

A strong password should be strong by itself, not because it is too complex or because it is changed all the time.

It should be unique, easy to remember, and preferably have a seemingly nonsensical combination of words.

A strong password is a word or phrase characterized by its difficulty to be guessed or deciphered by some automatic program. It may contain numbers, capital letters, special characters or better yet, be an alphanumeric password or made from biometric data, such as a fingerprint or the well-known facial recognition used by some electronic devices.

Always avoid special dates or simple words.

Make sure the password is long, memorable, and unique.

Full sentences are better than word or number substitutions.

Avoid using keyboard sequences, letters and numbers. For example: 123456 or abcdef.

Avoid using the same password for social networks, applications and bank accounts, since if a fraudster discovers it, the information would be at risk.

It is recommended not to write the password in any notebook or device so that no one can discover it and access personal information.

Have a password manager to add a layer of protection.

The idea is that you can use long keys, preferably a sentence that includes ups and downs and a random number that has nothing to do with something like 3stuv3D3V@c@c1on3s3nP3ru¡ (I was on vacation in Peru) is preferable to your birthday and names together.
