The directors of Banco de Bogotá must advance in their objectives of sustainability, care for the environment and be an increasingly inclusive entity, for which they have just announced two initiatives. The first collaboration with Saving The Amazon, for its clients to participate in the campaign that has the goal of planting 1 million trees in the Amazonwhile the second to allow clients and users of the entity to enter their offices with pets.

According to the entity’s directives, card customers who want to join the campaign to rescue deforested areas of the Amazon will have a discount of more than 60 percent on each tree they purchase with the entity’s debit and credit cards, in savintheamazon.org.
The campaign for cardholders of the entity will last until July 31 and will promote the planting of various species, including palms, fruit trees and different native varieties of the Vaupés area such as wasay, ivacaba, mirití, caimarona and patabá grapes, among others.

“For more than three years, at Banco de Bogotá we have been working together with Saving The Amazon, to support reforestation and restoration processes in our Colombian Amazon, promote innovation in planting practices and support the social and economic development of indigenous families, especially women who participate in planting and caring for trees showing employment opportunities for them”, affirmed Isabel Cristina Martínez, vice president of Sustainability and Corporate Services.

It should be noted that the financial entity was the first to design a green card in the country, known as the Amazon Debit Card, with which customers donate 1 percent of the value of their purchases to support reforestation in the Amazon and for every two trees planted, the bank donates an additional one. To date, there are already more than 100,000 clients who have committed to this cause, achieving the planting of more than 93,000 native trees.

Another of the initiatives that the bank has just announced has to do with the possibility that bank customers can access the bank’s offices with up to two pets (dogs or cats),
