This is the amount of layoffs that employers consigned – Financial Sector – Economy

A total of 11.77 trillion pesos were consigned by the Colombian governments until February 14, corresponding to the layoffs of some 20 million workers affiliated to the private funds (AFP) and the National Savings Fund (FNA), As reported this Wednesday by the Financial Superintendence, after indicating that said collection was 17.1 percent above that registered last year.

77.2 of the payments (close to 9.1 trillion pesos) were made through private administrators and the remaining 22.8 percent (2.68 trillion) through the National Savings Fund.

According to the control entity, to date the severance funds They had close to 11.5 million affiliates, of whom 44.8 percent were in the AFP Porvenir, 28.8 percent in Protección, 18.6 percent were in the FNA, 7.9 percent in Colfondos and 0.6 percent in Skandia.

The majority of those affiliated with the severance pay system, points out the superfinancial, 34.1 percent are in Bogotá, 17.7 percent in Antioquia and 9.2 percent in Valle del Cauca.

The entity also conceded that last year the members of the funds withdrew close to 7.9 trillion pesos from their layoffs, presenting an increase of 12.7 percent over the previous year. The main cause was ttermination of employment contract (36.8 percent).

«Of the withdrawals related to the termination of the contract, 44.9 percent corresponded to savings from the long-term portfolio and 26 percent to the short-term portfolio,» the entity said.
