The Colombian manufacturing industry continues to slow down. According to the official entity, among the lines that contributed the most to this growth in the first month of the year are the coking, oil refining, and mix of fuels that had a contribution of 1.1 percentage points; manufacture of soaps and detergents, perfumes and toilet preparations with 0.8 percentage points; manufacture of beverages with 0.7 percent and basic iron and steel industries with 0.3 percent.
«The good performance during 2022 as a base and the reduction in demand to mark manufacturing production explain the low magnitude of the figure (annual variation of 0.2 percent when comparing January 2023 with January 2022),» said the center Anif economic studies.

In the last twelve months until January 2023, the real production of the manufacturing industry presented a variation of 9.6 percent, real sales of 9 percent, and employed personnel of 4 percent, represents the Dane.
In this period, of the 39 industrial activities, 34 registered positive variations in their real production, adding 10 percentage points to the total twelve-month variation, and 5 subsectors with negative variations subtracted a total of 0.4 percentage points from the total variation.
