The National Federation of Coffee Growers (FNC), in its session today, revealed the names of the seven applicants selected by the Steering Committee to continue with the process of electing the next general manager of the FNC. After the analysis of the 45 resumes, there are 6 men in the competition and only one woman.

Between February 2 and 23, under the criteria and the profile agreed by the Committee, 45 applications were received, those that continue in the process are: Carlos Felipe Robayo Duque, César Augusto Echeverry Castaño, Germán Alberto Bahamón Jaramillo, Luis Fernando Mejía Alzate, Mauricio Velásquez García, Sandra Morelli Rico and Santiago Pardo Salguero.

«In a democratic environment of coordination, responsibility and given the relevance of the position, the FNC Steering Committee advanced steadily in the process of electing the general manager and selected 7 of the best resumes received from applicants,» said Jorge Alberto Posada Saldarriaga, president of the Steering Committee, who stressed that, in this important process, They are above all the interests of the coffee families.

According to Fedecafé, the profile of the applicants and the guiding criteria disclosed in the call, whoever reaches the general management the challenge of maintaining the unity of the union, the closeness with all the producers and continuing to improve the institutional indicators in economic, financial, social, environmental and governance matters.

The manager must have both a domestic and a global visiontransit in the FNC in its first centenary as a leading institution in terms of sustainability and prosperity of coffee-growing families.

«It must also gather qualities of leadership, solidarity, social sensitivity, managerial capacity and the ability to lead and carry out the union’s priorities and project it into the future,» he noted.

According to the schedule, between March 13 and 17, the National Committee of Coffee Growers will meet and analyze the resumes selected by the Steering Committee and will agree on and approve the names that will make up the shortlist to be
presented to the National Congress of Coffee Growers.

Then, between March 21 and 31, the shortlisted candidates will finalize their proposals and/or programs before each of the 15 departmental committees and On April 18, the Extraordinary Coffee Congress will elect and install the manager of the FNC based on the shortlist presented by the National Committee.
