It will not be an easy task given the current international and local situation, but it is a goal they have set for themselves, according to Ariel Montenegro, president of Renault-Sofasa for Colombia, who said that the company has large aircraft in the country.
“Mexico is a market with a lot of potential for Renault, more than a million vehicles, that is why we are targeting it. However, Ecuador is also another very attractive country for the brand, as well as Peru, Chile, Argentina and some Central American markets”, he said.

He added that there is a lot of potential in Argentina, but imports are somewhat restricted due to difficulties in accessing foreign currency and the ability to pay. Last year they placed 1,200 units and this year they expect to have a slight growth.
In total, last year export 15,000 units of the 40,000 produced in Envigado to various markets in the region. For this year they hope to raise that number to around 45,000, for which the plant is working two shifts at maximum capacity.
