The company continues its exploration operations in the search for oil and gas in Colombia

the canadian Canacol Energy announced three new gas facilities in Colombia in the departments of Magdalena, Cesar and Sucre. As reported by the company, in the Saxophone 1 exploration well, located in the Lower Magdalena Basin, a crude gas column of 290 feet of true vertical depth was found from the Porquero intraniscan are reservoir and a crude gas column of 48 feet into the Ciénaga de Oro primary sandstone reservoir (“CDO”).

“The well is currently being reviewed, and the Corporation plans to mobilize a workover rig to complete and test the CDO. The Canadian’s second find is from the Dividivi 1 exploration well located in the Lower Magdalena Basin, where it encountered an 89 ft tvd crude gas column within the primary reservoirs of CDO sandstone and Cicuco limestone.

According to Canacol, the discovery is located some 35 kilometers west of the TGI pipeline, which currently has approximately 260 MMscfpd of available transport capacity into the interior of Colombia.

The third discovery of natural gas occurred in the Chimela 1 exploration well where multiple oil and gas container zones were found within the Lisama Superior and Lisama Basal primary sandstone reservoirs

The company said that: “It plans to drill the Lulo 1 exploration well, located in its contract operation with 100% WI of Exploration and Exploitation Esperanza, in mid-March 2023. The Lulo 1 well is located less than 1 kilometer east of the Jobo production facility and targets gas-bearing sandstones of the CDO sandstone reservoir.
