Alerts with which the debate starts
The debate will begin with alerts about the impact that it could have on unemployment. This is due to the cost overruns to which companies would be exposed due to the payment of higher night and Sunday surcharges, among other measures.

Even the manager of Banco de la República, Leonardo Villar, referred to the impact it could have. “There are elements of the reform that can be positive, but it is important that society and Congress are aware that these decisions are not free and that there is a significant risk that this strong increase in labor costs, and in particular of some sectors that depend on night work, affect hiring and reduce employment”, he pointed out.
And it is that in the proposal the fact of advancing the night shift is maintained. At first it was going to go from 9 pm to 6 pm and now the idea is to start at 7 pm. In addition, the Sunday surcharge would rise from 75 to 100 percent.
