The director of the National Planning Department (DNP)Jorge Ivan Gonzalezpresented the general aspects of the project, and highlighted the participatory construction that the articles had, both due to the binding regional dialogues that took place throughout the country, as well as the comments issued by the National Planning Council and the public hearings in the departments .

“Now that Congress has the floor, I tell you, we deliver the expectations of a large part of the population in an orderly and hierarchical manner around five major transformations. We have made an effort to avoid sectorization as far as possible and we have made an enormous effort to prioritize projects,” said González.

The director of National Planning also said that from the Government it is expected that in these debates in Congress the big bets and projects will be maintained, and that regional and partisan interests will be articulated around strategic projects. “We all know that it is difficult, but it is a challenge that we all have”, adequate.

Among the issues that González also mentioned is the importance of strategically taking advantage of income from royalties, which for the biennium represent resources of $3.2 trillion, to finance large projects that have an impact on science and technology.

In addition, it was mentioned that the main problem for the development of the country is the ordering of the territory and the development of the agricultural sector.

“This country has environmental assets, it has environmental wealth that it offers to all humanity. In this sense, Colombia can offer the entire world a change in perspective from this country. Environmental assets can contribute to climate stability and the energy transformation of the planet. We are power because we have not developed the possibilities that we have”, said González.
