Guillermo Herrera Castaño is the new president of Camacol – Sectors – Economy

The national board of directors of the Colombian Chamber of Construction (Camacol), in its first session of 2023, announced the appointment of Guillermo Herrera Castaño as the new guild president.

This decision was made after «advancing a rigorous evaluation and selection process led by an external and recognized company in talent selection.»

Guillermo Herrera Castaño has more than 20 years of experience as manager of
public policy and is a recognized authority in the areas of housing, urban development and land use planning.

He is a business administrator from the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario University, and has specialized studies in Urban Law from the Externado de Colombia University.

In his extensive career in the public sector, he has served as
Minister of Sport; vice minister of housing; and district secretary of Habitat, among other positions.

«The national board of directors is convinced that, with his vision, knowledge and significant experience, Guillermo Herrera Castaño will continue to contribute to the
strengthening of the business fabric and of the workers in the sector, to proactive and constructive dialogue, and to the well-being of Colombian households and the country”, Camacol assured.

Guillermo Herrera will succeed Edwin Chiriví, who is in charge of the
Executive Presidency of the union since last December, after the resignation of Sandra Forero.
