The Ministry of Finance and Public Credit rejected that in the current list of people selected by the Steering Committee to continue with the election process of the next FNC General Manager there is only one woman.

After analyzing the 45 resumes, there are six men in the competition and only one woman, Sandra Morelli Rico, former comptroller general of Colombia.
According to the Steering Committee, the election process for the next general manager of the National Federation of Coffee Growers (FNC) was in a democratic environment of coordination, responsibility and given the relevance of the position.
In turn, the Ministry of Finance said that it will ask the committee to review the list of candidates «so that a significant number of women candidates are included in it.»

He also stated that the National Government will carry out a detailed analysis in order to confirm that all the candidates fulfill the requirements demanded by the National Committee of Coffee Growers.
Jorge Alberto Posada Saldarriaga, president of the Steering Committee, stressed that, in this important process, the interests of the coffee families are above all.
“The FNC Steering Committee made steady progress in the general manager election process and selected 7 of the best resumes received from applicants,” he said.

According to the schedule, between March 13 and 17, the National Committee of Coffee Growers will meet and analyze the resumes selected by the Steering Committee and agree and will approve the names that will make up the shortlist to be presented to the National Congress of Coffee Growers.
Then, between March 21 and 31, the shortlisted candidates will use their proposals and/or programs before each of the 15 departmental committees, and on April 18, the Extraordinary Coffee Congress will elect and install the general manager of the FNC as of of the shortlist presented by the National Committee.
