The Minister of Transportation, Guillermo Reyes, seeks to open a negotiation table with the taxi drivers and thus avoid the scheduled blockades in the country’s capital and in Colombia.
The idea is to do the same as agreed 20 days ago with the applications, advance in the construction stage of the bill that seeks to regulate applications in Colombia.
Reyes, summoned a meeting to the union in order to listen to them and discuss with them the points that generate nonconformity and before the reaction to maintain the protests regardless of the result of the meeting, he called for the protests to be held without affecting others. “Blocking the roads is caring against the rights of others«, said.
In addition to the Ministry of Transport, in the negotiation are the Ministers of Labor, ICT, and the Minister of Science and Technology.
Minister Reyes has been emphatic that the idea of government has never been removed from the people and «the realities cannot be ignored, the provision of the transportation service must be regularized, the construction process of the draft bill will continue but it will only be presented for consideration by the Congress of the Republic, once it is agreed upon and obtained a consensus with all the actors», he said at the meeting with the apps.
On that occasion, he had pointed out that the Ministry of Transportation will maintain and promote the national table with the union of individual taxi-type transport servicesso that in a maximum of two months the adjustments to the public policy that strengthen their current conditions are built.

This must happen because it is a story of more than 12 years that is still unresolved and that other countries, including in the region, have already resolved and call us to become aware and prevent it from continuing like this,» he said.
