However, In the seven months to date of the year, only 18,172 subsidies have been delivered, which is equivalent to 24 percent of the goal set. In addition, 15,468 coverage requests have been registered as of July 7.
Despite this scenario, the Minister of Housing, Catalina Velasco, pointed out that the country will go from an average rate of 33,000 subsidies between 2018 and 2020, to 50,000 to be guaranteed annually between 2023 and 2026.

The protection of those families that are planning to sign the deeds is being prioritized
Taking into account that there are households that meet the new requirements of the program and have an advanced home purchase process, prioritization is being given to those families who plan to sign the deeds within six months of the issuance of the decree . The above allows reduce the stock of homes already finished and avoid withdrawals.
Within the adjustments made to Mi Casa, they were already thought the higher prioritization score weight to applicants in category five and six municipalities (up to 20 points), this in order to ensure that the program reaches municipalities that have been neglected.
The ministry points out that the disbursements have been taking place since last February, so the subsidies are disbursed as the builders make the payment.

It does not constitute an access barrier for households interested in Mi Casa subsidies since
At the end of 2022, Sisbén IV had a coverage of close to 60 percent of the population and 70 percent of Colombian households, which shows that it does not constitute an access barrier for households interested in Mi Casa ya subsidies.
With the changes introduced in the program, one of the requirements to apply is to have a classification between A1 and D20. To define this range, the classification that was most consistent with the previous targeting mechanism was taken, under which households with a monthly income of up to four minimum monthly wages could be beneficiaries.
With the support of the Social Development Directorate (DDS) of the National Planning Department (DNP) and based on data from Dane’s Great Integrated Household Survey (Geih) 2021, it was identified that the D20 group is the last, whose average income is closer to four monthly salaries.

Therefore, in the new targeting, only the D21 subgroup is excepted, which, according to the Geih 2021 data, includes households that, on average, have incomes of more than four minimum wages.
For this reason, the Ministry of Housing considers that not face difficulties in reaching financial closureso they do not need to be attended by the Mi Casa Ya program.
Faced with the subsidies pending disbursement, the ministry made a call to banks and builders to expedite procedures and thus, more households fulfill the dream of having their own home.
