This is an event that has a significance beyond the traditional offer of materials and services, because now we are moved by the need to contribute initiatives for the reactivation of the sector through innovation and productivity, in order to counteract what reveal the statistics.
Remember that, according to the Dane, The Building Construction Cost Index (ICOCED) for the first quarter of the year increased 7.9 percent compared to the same period in 2022. In the particular case of the residential segment, the variation was 7.8 percent in the first quarter, while the annual one was 13.6 percent and, here, several materials had a significant weight.

These figures are closely related to the dynamics that broke Expoconstrucción and Expodiseño into the ideal showcase for companies to show how they have counteracted the impact of variables such as the exchange rate and rising prices.
We already have a first message that encourages us: in total, We will have 410 exhibitors, 280 national and 130 international, which should be read as a resounding yes to the reactivation (it is worth remembering that in 2021 there were 200). In addition, 1,200 business appointments will be promoted, which from now on allows us to affirm with complete certainty that the tireless work of the productive apparatus, in the midst of eventualities, continues to trace the path of development and job creation.
There is also a commitment to strengthen the commitment to climate action, migrating to sustainability through projects that are friendly to the environment, which allow savings in water, energy and other resources.

Precisely, in recent days we held the Camacol Verde Congress where we shared great news: the climate change mitigation goals, which called for the reduction of 93,000 tons of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2030, they will be fulfilled by the construction sector in 2025, that is, five years ahead of schedule and in this the EDGE certification has been key.
In Colombia we already have 168,000 homes built with this label, totaling 12 million square meters, which allows us to anticipate the goal. In addition, there are 120,000 additional homes in progress, representing 8 million square meters.

This is good news that maintains the hope of 36 sectors of the economy and 174 industrial and commercial branches associated with construction, to which is added the articulated work with the supply chain to promote innovation and sustainability, and strengthen the environment of business. For this reason, precisely Actors linked to the industry raised their hands and said “yes” to Expoconstrucción and Expodiseñothat a few days after its inauguration is already the reactivation fair.
