As every year, the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH), the authority in charge of optimally managing Colombia’s hydrocarbon resources, presented the Country’s Contingent Hydrocarbon Reserves and Resources Report.
The report is made based on information reported by the operating companies to the ANH, which is subsequently consolidated by the Entity and presented to the country between the months of May and June.
In the Report, the information of 474 fields with a cutoff of December 31, 2022 was consolidated. According to the report of the National Hydrocarbons Agency, in 2022, the 1P crude oil proven reserves were 2,074 million barrels, which means that there was an increase of 35 million barrels compared to the year 2021.
Oil production was 275 million barrels, indicating an increase of 6 million over the previous year, leading to oil reserves lasting 7.5 years.
