The year is over, but not the job offers

Unemployment among women fell in the month of November in Colombia, excellent news for the country.

A new year begins and with it the good news. El Dane revealed a few days ago how the labor market was in the country for the month of November 2022; on the one hand, the unemployment rate continues to decline, the eleventh month of the previous year it appeared at 9.5%1.8 percentage points below the same month of 2021 (11.3%).

On the other hand, employability among women had a strong rebound in November, and compared to the figure that Dane delivered in the same month of 2021 (8.47 million). According to the entity, The employed female population in the country is 9.26 million workers, this represents a growth of 9.4%.

However, the male population employed in the country had an increase of 3.3%, from 12.79 million (2021) to 13.22 million (2022).

This represents a decrease in unemployment in the country, but also a small reduction in the hiring gap by gender that has been so marked in the country, with the pandemic being one of the most critical times for women in labor matters.
